Kane, Ledgerock NYC Dragonfire 6/4/04
Kane arrived, from Ledgerock Australian Kelpies in August 2004, he fit right in with the resident dogs. He has turned out to be a great city living dog, who loves to sit in the window and watch the people, cars and dogs go by. He is doing great in agility, he is big dog, but jumps like a gazelle.
There is something about Kane that draws people to him, he is smart, handsome, strange, obsessive with balls and has such a wonderful personality.
He loves to learn, as long as there is a ball involved he will do anything. In agility he is amazing, has multiple champion titles. Kane turned 13 years old June 4, 2017, he still looks as good as he did when he was young. After getting his CS-ATE championship early in 2017, he is now retired from agility. He will run with anyone, he has taught a few young handlers all about agility, he is my demo dog in school, I loan him to people at trials to run. He is what I call a professional agility dog, he does it all. He has worked with kids at several different programs, 4H, Boces and he loves everyone who will throw that ball for him.
Kane loves to do Noseworks a sport he took up late in life in 2016 when he was 12. He learned so fast and loves to find those smells for cheese, the ultimate reward for him.
Kane is very photogenic (one can tell from all the photos I take of him), he has been on several television programs for Animal Planet, Dogs 101 the Australian Kelpie episode, he was the black and tan dog on the white stage. He also has been on Its Me Or The Dog, doing an agility demo for the family of Victoria Stillwell’s client dog. He was a phenomenal Flyball dog, that was made for him, a sport in which the ball is the most important thing. He was the first dog on Long Island, NY to achieve the ONYX title, gathering 10,000 points to do that accomplishment.
I am truly amazed with this dog, somehow not only has he touched my life, but he continues to touch the lives of all the people he meets. Everyone loves Kane and he loves them all right back.
