The mouth roaring!

Teri and Carmen achieved the MACH title in AKC agility, Master Agility Champion, now she has two Championship titles at either end of her name- CH Kine-Ahora's Gold's Dragonfire MACH.  They got that last leg in Jumpers at the Staten Island show on Sunday November 4th, 2007.  I was privileged and pleased to be there to watch and cheer them on.  Thanks Teri, it has been a great ride that you have let me share with you and Carmen.  Keep up the good work and enjoy each other.

Carmen and her owner Teri Nolan the saga continues...... reported by Teri Nolan

It’s been an exciting year for Carmen.  A move to the country where in addition to agility her new hobbies include chasing birds and digging for China.

The season started off strong with 2 QQ at the Pine Barrens Cluster.  As a new team, we were still adjusting to each other.  We were earning qualifying rounds towards our MX and picking up MACH points and extra jumpers legs.  In May we took a break to do NADAC and earned her EAC-V and WV-N titles.  In August Carmen participated at the All Star tournament in York PA.  She was awesome coming in second out of 24 dogs in the 8” class.  We settled down in the Fall and at the Springfield cluster in November Carmen completed her MX title.  In addition, we found out the Carmen is now qualified to go to the AKC Nationals in March.  At the Non-Sporting trial in December Carmen finished off the 2006 agility season with her 7th double ending the year with 445 points.  She is well on her way to her MACH.  At the Agility for a Cause cluster in Springfield, Carmen and Teri got tow double Q's and are over the half-way mark to the Mach.

Carmen and Teri are well on their way to the MACH title.  They are a formidable if not loud team in the ring.

I attended the AKC National Agility Competition with Teri and Carmen, had a great time, cheering the team on.  They were awesome running clean in four out of the five runs!  I thank Teri for giving a great home to Carmen and taking such fantastic care of her.  Carmen loves her and that is all I can ask for.

Photo above is of Carmen  & Teri with their ribbon and trophy from the All Star Agility  Tournament in August of 2006.  Way to go girls!!!!!!

Carmen came to me as an adorable pup from breeder Ilsa Sternberg, Kine-Ahora.  Full of fire, very opinionated and complaining, loudly from day one.  She is extremely vocal, hence her name, Carmen.  Aida would have been hard to yell out on the agility course.  Carmen talks all the time, sometimes loudly and mostly a low, whining and crying.

The Queen, Carmen and I tried our luck in the breed ring.  I showed her a few times, got a point here and there, but our showing was sporadic. Hard to find time when Devin and Lola were busy in agility most weekends. Carmen's breeder, Ilsa Sternberg, showed her for me and got more of those elusive points and some very nice wins.  Carmen got her 2 majors, back to back in GA, handled by someone who knew more than I regarding handling conformation dogs,  Susan  Mong.  After that I was privileged to get her last point and the Championship myself and even won the breed that day in PA.  Now that was a awesome feeling!  After achieving the CH we hung up our conformation clothes and moved 100% into agility.

Carmen loves agility. She does it with style, speed and attitude.  If I handle poorly you will know that, as Carmen is telling me on course.  She dislikes being confused and is very loud about it.  She did spend 4 months from January - April 2002, doing NADAC with Sharon Nelson in NM, AZ and other warm weather states.  She came back with 5 new titles and well on her way to qualifying for the NATCH, NADAC's Championship title.  Carmen and Teri continue on the path to more legs and more fun in agility.  They qualified to attend the 2007 AKC Nationals in Ohio, I was fortunate to have been given the opportunity to go along and watch them do very, very well at the show.

Carmen is now owned by my friend, Teri Nolan  Carmen moved from the city to the country and is enjoying her life.  Teri is doing a fabulous job with her, she has gotten quite a few of her newest titles in NADAC and AKC, including the MX and MXJ!   And they now have the AKC Agility champion title, the MACH.  I am very fortunate to have found the perfect place for Carmen to shine, the home of Teri Nolan!

Carmen's personality is the true big dog in a small package, she hung on the Border Collie's tail, got flung around as Devin spins.  She raced the Border Collie and loved to chase her and kept up with her quite well.  She still enjoys life to the fullest and you can hear that in her voice as she barks and barks and barks....
